Money is one of the very important things in our life. We can buy food, house, clothing, household things, etc. with money, almost everything, but, not happiness. Through money we can buy all these things, so people think that we can also buy happiness with money. But, is this true? Some people think so, if you have lot of money you can buy even happiness.

People often equate money. Suppose, there is a new video game in the market, we spent much money on it, but after some days, we get bored with it and stop playing with it. Same way, if someone has brand new shoes, we think “I hope I would have money to buy it”. Then when we buy it our mind demands something else and the process goes on. Psychologists call it “Hedonic Treadmill”. It means new things always become old.

Money can buy everything, but do you think it can save us from mental disorders. Yes, of course, a wealthy person can pay for the treatments. But does it guarantee us that the person will get recovered and happiness can be achieved. We can achieve happiness not by money but by changing your thoughts, being grateful, kind, smiling and living a life you love.

Some of the rich people who have a lot of money also agree with this motto. But, some disagree. Money cannot buy happiness because it cannot buy love and time. Happiness in life comes from a good family, friends, etc. who care about us not with money. When we stay with our loved ones, it makes our life beautiful, wonderful and meaningful.

Once, there was a Japanese actress who was very famous. Though, every year she was earning a lot of money, still she was not happy, because she does not have any close friend or family to take her care. On the other hand there are many people who do not have money to even eat, but still are living happily with family. So, now you have understood that money is not everything in life.

The people who have a lot of money cannot enjoy their life. For example: a rich person would need to work very hard to earn that much money. He would have to work the whole day and the whole week too, without a holiday. Then, he would be neither able to get time to spent money for himself nor with friends & family.

The term “happiness” is meant hard to define or achieve. The source of happiness differs from person to person. What might be a source for us would may not be for others. So do not try to compare happiness with money. Thus, money can’t buy happiness.
